Written by a leading Soviet authority on chemical fertilizers, the book presents—in concise but sufficiently ample form—material on the theory and practice of fertilizer manufacture. Theoretical material gives the reader an insight into what underlies the manufacture of a particular fertilizer, and engineering-oriented sections give an idea about the process configuration adopted. Emphasis is placed on general rather specific features of quite a number of manufacturing processes, although the most commonly practised of them are treated in more detail. The fertilizers covered in the book range from ground phosphorite rock to complete grades of compound and blended formulations.
