Part I. The Theoretical Foundations of Chemical Technology
The first part contains generalizations and description of the theoretical foundations of chemical engineering applicable to homogeneous, heterogeneous and catalytic processes. Special attention has been paid in this volume to a study of macrokinetics of chemical processes and theory of chemical reactors. New material, formulae and tables necessary for calculations of chemical processes and reactors, and basic information about raw materials have been included.
Part II. The Most Important Industrial Chemical Processes
The second part deals with the applications of basic laws for determining optimal parameters and selection of reactors for chemical engineering processes of utmost national economic importance. It cites as examples the processes for production of sulphuric acid, ammonia, nitric acid, mineral salts and fertilizers, silicates, metallurgical and electrochemical products, as well as processes for rendering industrial waste harmless.
